Error Code: Refrigerator Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Compressor overload or start system failure (795 series flash code)
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- UNPLUG unit for 30 minutes to allow compressor thermal overload to reset.
- Restore power and listen for compressor attempting to start (brief hum then shutdown indicates overload).
- Remove rear access panel to access compressor.
- Replace start relay/overload kit first (least expensive component).
- If compressor still won’t start, test compressor windings for shorts/opens (requires multimeter).
- If windings good but compressor locked (won’t rotate shaft with screwdriver), install hard start booster capacitor as temporary fix.
- If windings shorted or compressor seized permanently, requires sealed system repair by licensed technician (refrigerant handling required).
- NEVER operate compressor with hard start device for >30 days – causes permanent damage.
