How to Fix E5E Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the washer from power and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
  2. Remove the washer’s top and back panels to access the control boards.
  3. Identify the main control board (top) and the motor control board (bottom).
  4. Trace the communication cable (a multi-wire harness) that connects the two boards.
  5. Check for a secure connection at both ends. Unplug the connectors, inspect for corrosion on the pins, and plug them back in securely.
  6. If connections are good, the motor control board is the next part to replace. Follow the steps for error E5A to replace it.
  7. After replacement, reattach the panels and test the machine and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
