Error Code: E5D Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Communication problem/failure.
How to Fix E5D Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the washer from the electrical outlet and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Remove the top and rear panels to get full access to the internal wiring and control boards.
- Locate the main control board (usually at the top) and the motor control board (at the bottom, near the motor).
- Carefully inspect the wiring harness that runs between these two boards. Look for any loose connections, pinched wires, or signs of damage.
- Disconnect and then firmly reconnect the harness at both the main board and the motor control board ends.
- If the wiring appears intact, the motor control board is the most likely component to have failed. Proceed to replace it following the steps for error E5A.
- Reassemble the panels and test the washer and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
