How to Fix E5B Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Unplug the washer from the wall outlet to prevent electrical shock.
  2. Remove the screws from the rear access panel and set the panel aside.
  3. The motor control board is located near the bottom of the washer, close to the drive motor. Take a picture of the wiring.
  4. Carefully unplug each wire connector from the board, pressing the release tabs.
  5. Unscrew the old motor control board and remove it from the machine.
  6. Mount the new board in the same location and secure it with the screws.
  7. Reconnect all wires correctly, replace the rear panel, and restore power to the washer.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
