How to Fix E46 Error (Step-by-Step)

  2. Remove the top panel by taking out the screws located on the back of the washer.
  3. Find the main control board inside a plastic housing. Take a photo of the wire layout for later reference.
  4. Disconnect the multiple wire harnesses attached to the board by releasing their locking tabs.
  5. Unfasten the screws or clips holding the control board and its housing.
  6. Replace the old board with the new one, making sure it snaps securely into place.
