How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- Remove current water filter cartridge.
- Inspect filter head for debris or damaged O-rings.
- Install new genuine filter cartridge, rotating clockwise until it stops (typically 90-180 degrees).
- Listen for distinct ‘click’ indicating proper seating.
- If error persists, locate filter bypass valve (internal to filter head).
- Remove filter head assembly (requires disconnecting water lines – have towels ready).
- Inspect bypass valve mechanism for broken spring or jammed plunger.
- Replace entire filter head assembly if bypass valve faulty.
- Reset filter status indicator after repair.

If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
