How to Fix E15 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the refrigerator from the wall outlet to prevent any electrical risk.
  2. The ambient temperature sensor is typically located behind the grille at the very bottom of the refrigerator or near the control display.
  3. Remove the front bottom grille by releasing its clips or screws.
  4. Locate the small sensor, which is usually a small plastic probe with two wires coming from it.
  5. Disconnect the sensor’s wire plug and unclip the sensor from its mounting bracket.
  6. Clip the new ambient temperature sensor into place and reconnect its wire plug.
  7. Re-secure the bottom grille, plug the refrigerator back in, and the error should clear.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
