How to Fix E11 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Turn off power to the refrigerator at your home’s circuit breaker.
- The display control module is located in the dispenser area on the front of the door. Use a plastic putty knife or trim removal tool to gently pry the dispenser’s outer cover off.
- With the cover removed, you will see the display module. Take a photo of how the wires are connected.
- Disconnect the wire harnesses attached to the back of the old display module.
- Remove the screws holding the module in place and swap it with the new one.
- Reconnect the wire harnesses to the new module based on your reference photo.
- Carefully snap the dispenser cover back into place and restore power at the circuit breaker to test the new display.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
