Error Code: RINSE AID SYMBOL (SUN/STARBURST) Difficulty: Easy
Problem: The rinse aid dispenser needs to be refilled.
How to Fix RINSE AID SYMBOL (SUN/STARBURST) Error (Step-by-Step)
- Locate the Rinse Aid symbol, which looks like a sun or starburst, illuminated on your dishwasher’s display. This indicates the rinse aid level is low.
- Open the dishwasher door completely. Find the rinse aid dispenser, which is a round compartment typically located next to the main detergent dispenser on the inside of the door.
- Turn the dispenser cap counter-clockwise to open it. Some models may have a lid that flips open instead.
- Slowly pour liquid rinse aid into the opening until the indicator window or level gauge shows it is full. Be careful not to overfill.
- Wipe up any spilled rinse aid with a cloth to prevent excess foaming during the next wash cycle.
- Securely close the dispenser by replacing the cap and turning it clockwise until it locks, or by snapping the lid shut.
- The illuminated symbol on the display will turn off after the next wash cycle begins.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
