How to Fix E19 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the dishwasher from its power source by turning off the circuit breaker and shut off the water supply valve, usually located under the sink.
  2. Carefully slide the dishwasher out from under the counter to access its sides and back.
  3. Remove the outer side panels and the base panel at the bottom front to expose the internal components.
  4. Locate the heat exchanger assembly on the side of the unit and identify the outlet valve connected to it.
  5. Unplug the electrical connector from the valve solenoid and carefully detach the connected hoses, being prepared for some residual water to spill.
  6. Remove the old valve, which may be held by clips or screws, and install the new heat exchanger outlet valve in its place.
  7. Reconnect the hoses and electrical connector, reassemble the panels, slide the dishwasher back into place, and restore power and water to test the repair.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
