Problem: Unbalanced load detected during spin cycle – tub vibration exceeds safe limits
How to Fix Washer Error
- Pause cycle when uL appears – washer will attempt automatic rebalancing (may take 5-10 minutes).
- If automatic rebalance fails, open lid/door and manually redistribute laundry evenly around tub.
- Remove bulky items (comforters, rugs) and wash separately with towels for balance.
- Avoid washing single heavy items alone – always add smaller items to distribute weight.
- Ensure washer is level front-to-back and side-to-side (use carpenter’s level on top panel).
- Adjust leveling legs until all four feet contact floor firmly (rocking indicates instability).
- Verify suspension rods/shocks aren’t broken or disconnected (access requires removing cabinet panels).
- Check tub glide bearings for excessive wear allowing tub to shift during spin.
- If uL occurs repeatedly with balanced loads, suspect failing tub bearing or broken counterweight requiring professional repair.
- After redistribution, restart cycle and allow washer to complete automatic rebalance attempts before intervening.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
