Problem: Temperature control error—overheating detected by multiple sensors
How to Fix Dryer Error
- IMMEDIATE ACTION: Disconnect power—serious overheating condition exists.
- Remove rear panel to access heater assembly and thermal protection devices.
- Test thermal fuse WP3392519 on blower housing—replace if open (blown).
- Test high-limit thermostat WP3392914—replace if open (tripped).
- Inspect heating element for grounded windings causing continuous heating—test continuity between element terminals and metal housing (should be open circuit).
- Verify blower wheel integrity—cracked or missing fins reduce airflow causing overheating. Replace wheel if damaged.
- Inspect entire vent system for severe blockages: remove lint screen and clean thoroughly, disconnect flexible hose and clean with vent brush, verify exterior vent flap opens fully.
- Check drum seals for tears allowing air bypass—replace if damaged.
- Replace thermal fuse WP3392519 and high-limit thermostat WP3392914 as a set.
- After repair, run first test cycle with vent disconnected while monitoring exhaust temperature—should cycle normally without exceeding 180°F. Reconnect vent only after verifying proper operation.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
