Problem: Heating Element Doesn’t Work
How to Fix 7-1 Error
- Disconnect the dishwasher from power at the circuit breaker.
- Access the heating element from the front-bottom of the dishwasher by removing the lower panels.
- Disconnect the wires from the heating element terminals.
- Use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. A good element will have a resistance reading (typically 10-30 ohms). An open circuit (infinite ohms) means the element is bad.
- If the element is bad, remove the nuts holding it in place and replace it with the new one.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
