Problem: Dispenser motor or auger drive failure preventing ice dispensing
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- UNPLUG unit.
- Remove ice bin and locate dispenser motor behind rear wall of freezer door.
- Disconnect wiring harness and remove mounting screws.
- Inspect drive coupling for stripped gears or broken shaft.
- Manually rotate auger shaft to check for ice jams or foreign objects.
- If motor doesn’t rotate when powered (test with multimeter) or gears stripped, replace motor assembly.
- Clean ice bin thoroughly before reinstalling to prevent re-jamming.
- Verify operation by requesting cubed/crushed ice – should hear motor engage and ice dispense within 3 seconds.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
