⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: F3E2 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: A moisture sensor issue has been detected. This can occur if five consecutive loads are dried without the sensor registering moisture.
How to Fix F3E2 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet to prevent electrical hazards.
- Locate the moisture sensor strips, which are two thin, metal bars typically found on the inside of the dryer drum, near the lint filter housing.
- Clean the sensor strips thoroughly with a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol, as a buildup of fabric softener residue can prevent them from working correctly.
- If cleaning doesn’t solve the issue, you may need to replace the sensor, which usually requires removing the front panel.
- Disconnect the wire harness leading to the sensor strips from the inside of the front panel.
- Remove the old sensor strips and install the new ones, ensuring they are securely in place. Reconnect the wiring.
- Reassemble the dryer, plug it in, and run a load to test the automatic cycle.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
