⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: Dryer Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Inlet and exhaust thermistor readings differ by more than 30°F indicating sensor mismatch or airflow problem
How to Fix Dryer Error
- Disconnect power and remove both front lower panel and rear panel for access to both thermistors.
- Locate inlet thermistor WP35001191 (front/blower housing) and exhaust thermistor WP3392519 (rear/exhaust duct).
- Disconnect both thermistors and measure resistance simultaneously with two multimeters or swap positions to verify readings match within 5%.
- If one thermistor reads significantly different, replace that sensor.
- If both thermistors test within specification, diagnose airflow restriction: remove lint screen and clean thoroughly, inspect flexible vent hose for kinks/crushing, verify exterior vent flap opens freely, clean blower wheel housing of lint buildup.
- Check drum seals for tears allowing air bypass.
- Replace faulty thermistor(s)—WP35001191 for inlet, WP3392519 for exhaust.
- Reassemble and run test cycle with vent disconnected temporarily to verify proper temperature differential (exhaust should run 20-30°F hotter than inlet during heating).
- Reconnect vent system and verify F3E4 does not return.
