How to Fix Dryer Error
- Disconnect power and remove rear panel.
- Locate high-limit thermostat WP3392914 mounted on heater housing (typically near heating element terminals).
- Disconnect wiring harness and test for continuity with multimeter—no continuity indicates tripped/open thermostat.
- Inspect heater assembly for grounded element (element touching housing) which causes continuous heating.
- Check thermal fuse WP3392519 on blower housing—replace if blown (indicates severe overheating event).
- Verify blower wheel is intact and rotating properly (cracked wheel reduces airflow causing overheating).
- Replace high-limit thermostat WP
- Reconnect wiring ensuring terminals are fully seated.
- Before reassembly, clean entire exhaust path including lint screen housing and blower wheel.
- Test dryer with vent disconnected for first cycle to verify proper cycling (heater should cycle on/off every 45-60 seconds).
