2. To access the necessary parts, you will need to slide the dishwasher out from under the counter. First, remove the lower kick plate at the bottom of the dishwasher.
3. Locate the heating element, which is a large, circular tube at the bottom of the dishwasher tub. Disconnect the two wires attached to it. Using a multimeter set to test for ohms, check the element for continuity. A normal reading is between 10 and 30 ohms. If the meter reads infinity, the element is broken and must be replaced.
