How to Fix FLASHING “4” Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet to ensure your safety.
- Open the refrigerator door and locate the hinge cover at the very top of the unit. Remove the screws holding it in place and lift the cover off.
- Carefully disconnect the wire harness connector that is now exposed. This is the electrical connection for the door.
- Have a helper firmly hold the door. Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the top hinge to the refrigerator cabinet.
- With your helper, carefully lift the entire door straight up and off the bottom hinge pin. Set the door aside on a soft, protected surface.
- Locate and replace the damaged door wiring harness inside the door assembly. You may need to carefully guide the new harness through the door’s internal channels.
- Re-install the door by lowering it onto the bottom hinge pin, re-attaching the top hinge, reconnecting the wire harness, and securing the hinge cover. Plug the refrigerator back in to test the repair.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
