Error Code: H OR HI Difficulty: Easy
Problem: High temperature alert. The temperature inside the refrigerator or freezer is too high.
How to Fix H OR HI Error (Step-by-Step)
- First, confirm that all refrigerator and freezer doors are fully closed and were not accidentally left open.
- Check the temperature settings on the control panel. Ensure they are set to the recommended levels, typically 0°F for the freezer and 37°F for the refrigerator.
- Inspect the air vents inside both compartments. Make sure they are not blocked by food packages, allowing for proper cold air circulation.
- If you have recently loaded a large amount of warm groceries, allow the refrigerator at least 4 to 6 hours to cool down and reach the set temperature.
- You can press the ‘Alarm Reset’ or ‘Mute’ button to silence the warning beep while the unit is cooling.
- The ‘H’ or ‘HI’ indicator will automatically turn off once the interior temperature returns to a safe level.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
