⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: NP Difficulty: Easy
Problem: In diagnostic mode, indicates the absence of a 12V or GND signal for a fan motor when it is on.
How to Fix NP Error (Step-by-Step)
- This code appears when the refrigerator is in a special check or service mode and does not indicate a part failure in normal use.
- To exit the check mode, the simplest method is to perform a power cycle.
- Unplug the refrigerator from the electrical outlet and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Wait for 5 minutes. This allows the internal computer to fully reset and exit any special modes.
- Plug the refrigerator back into the outlet and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- The unit will restart in its normal operating mode, and the ‘NP’ code will no longer be displayed.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
