Error Code: SUD OR SD Difficulty: Easy
Problem: Excessive suds have been detected in the dishwasher. This is often caused by using the wrong type or too much detergent.
How to Fix SUD OR SD Error (Step-by-Step)
- Press the ‘Cancel/Drain’ button to stop the cycle and pump out the sudsy water.
- Open the dishwasher door carefully, as there may be a lot of suds.
- You can help break down the suds by pouring 1 cup of white vinegar or adding a few tablespoons of salt into the bottom of the dishwasher.
- Let the dishwasher sit for about an hour to allow the suds to dissipate.
- Once the suds are gone, close the door and run a ‘Rinse Only’ or a normal wash cycle with no dishes or detergent to flush out the machine.
- To prevent this, only use detergent specifically made for automatic dishwashers. Never use liquid dish soap for handwashing.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
