How to Fix Washer Error

  1. Unplug washer and attempt manual door release using emergency pull tab (located behind lower kick panel).
  2. Remove kick panel to access door lock assembly mounted on door frame.
  3. Inspect lock hook for physical damage or debris preventing engagement.
  4. Disconnect lock wiring harness and measure resistance: primary coil 300-600 ohms, secondary 1000-1500 ohms.
  5. Check lock strike plate alignment – should engage smoothly without binding when door closes.
  6. Verify 120V AC reaches lock during operation (test at connector with door closed).
  7. Inspect wiring harness between lock and control board for damage near door hinge.
  8. If lock receives power but won’t engage, or resistance readings are infinite, replace door lock assembly WPW
