How to Fix Refrigerator Error

  1. Unplug refrigerator immediately to prevent fan motor burnout.
  2. Remove rearwall panel in freezer compartment to access evaporator fan.
  3. Inspect fan blade for ice buildup completely blocking rotation (common after door left ajar).
  4. Thaw ice accumulation using hair dryer on low setting – never force blade rotation.
  5. After ice removal, manually spin fan blade – should rotate freely without binding.
  6. Inspect fan blade for physical damage (cracks, bent blades) causing imbalance and stalling.
  7. Check fan motor bearings for seized condition – should rotate smoothly by hand.
  8. Disconnect fan wiring harness and measure resistance across motor terminals (should read 50-150 ohms).
  9. If motor resistance is good but fan stalled due to ice, clean evaporator drain to prevent recurrence.
  10. If motor bearings are seized or resistance is infinite, replace evaporator fan motor WPW
