⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: Refrigerator Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Inverter DC bus overvoltage fault
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- Unplug refrigerator immediately – overvoltage can destroy inverter components.
- Measure household voltage at outlet – should be 110-125V AC (voltage >130V causes overvoltage faults).
- If household voltage exceeds 125V, contact utility company to correct voltage regulation.
- Remove rear access panel to access inverter board.
- Inspect DC bus capacitors on inverter for bulging tops or leaking electrolyte.
- Check for burnt components near DC bus circuitry on inverter board.
- Verify compressor windings aren’t shorted causing regenerative voltage spikes (measure winding resistance).
- If household voltage is normal and compressor tests good, inverter board has failed.
- Replace inverter assembly W
- After replacement, monitor DC bus voltage during operation using oscilloscope if available (should not exceed 380V DC).
