How to Fix Refrigerator Error

  1. Unplug refrigerator immediately to prevent compressor damage.
  2. Remove rear access panel to access inverter board and compressor terminals.
  3. Disconnect compressor wiring from inverter and measure winding resistance between terminals (should be balanced 3-8 ohms).
  4. Check for short to ground by measuring resistance between each terminal and compressor shell (should be infinite).
  5. Inspect condenser coils for excessive dirt restricting airflow causing compressor overheating.
  6. Verify condenser fan operates properly during compressor run cycles.
  7. Check refrigerant lines for proper insulation – missing insulation causes liquid floodback damaging compressor.
  8. If winding resistance is unbalanced or shorted to ground, compressor has failed (requires sealed system repair).
  9. If compressor tests good but error persists, replace inverter assembly W
  10. After repair, monitor compressor current draw during startup (should not exceed 12 amps for more than 3 seconds).
