How to Fix Refrigerator Error

  1. Unplug refrigerator immediately – overcurrent can damage control board fan drivers.
  2. Pull unit away from wall and remove rear access panel.
  3. Manually spin condenser fan blade – check for binding indicating seized bearings or obstructions.
  4. Inspect fan blade for cracks or deformation causing imbalance.
  5. Disconnect fan wiring harness and measure resistance across motor terminals (should read 50-200 ohms).
  6. Resistance below 40 ohms indicates shorted windings requiring motor replacement.
  7. Check for short circuits between motor terminals and ground (should be infinite resistance).
  8. Clean condenser coils thoroughly – restricted airflow causes motor to overwork and overheat.
  9. If motor resistance is low or shows shorts to ground, replace condenser fan motor WPW
  10. After replacement, verify fan runs smoothly during compressor operation without overheating.
