⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: E3 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: The washer detected an overflow level of water. This typically happens if the water inlet valve is stuck open and lets water in even when the machine is off.
How to Fix E3 Error
-
- UNPLUG washer from electrical power. Remove rear access panel.
- Manually rotate drum pulley. Listen for grinding noises or feel for excessive resistance indicating bearing failure.
- Disconnect motor wiring harness from main board. Label connections before removal.
- Test motor windings resistance between U-V, V-W, and W-U terminals. All readings must be equal (2-5Ω). Uneven readings indicate internal fault.
- Test hall sensor resistance per service manual pinout (typically
- 5-
- 5kΩ between sensor pins).
- If motor binds mechanically or electrical tests fail, replace entire motor assembly using OEM part DC34-00030A.
- Remove drive belt, stator mounting bolts (4-6 bolts), and rotor nut (requires rotor puller tool). Extract old motor.
- Install new motor assembly. Reattach rotor, stator bolts (torque to 22 ft-lbs), and drive belt with proper tension.
- Reconnect wiring. Run motor diagnostic test to verify rotation direction and speed.
