How to Fix Samsung Refrigerator Error 3C

⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.

Error Code: 3C Difficulty: Moderate

Problem: Refrigerator defrost sensor error – alias of 3E

How to Fix 3C Error

  1. UNPLUG THE REFRIGERATOR. This error points to a failure of the refrigerator compartment’s defrost sensor.
  2. You must access the evaporator coils, which are located behind the rear panel inside the refrigerator compartment. This requires removing all shelves, drawers, and the panel itself.
  3. The defrost sensor is a small probe clipped directly onto the evaporator coils. Disconnect its wire harness.
  4. Test the sensor with a multimeter. Resistance varies by temperature, but an infinite or zero reading confirms it’s bad. It’s often replaced along with the thermal fuse as a set.
  5. Clip the new sensor onto the coil, reconnect the wiring, and carefully reassemble the interior of the refrigerator.
