How to Fix 3C Error
- UNPLUG THE REFRIGERATOR. This error points to a failure of the refrigerator compartment’s defrost sensor.
- You must access the evaporator coils, which are located behind the rear panel inside the refrigerator compartment. This requires removing all shelves, drawers, and the panel itself.
- The defrost sensor is a small probe clipped directly onto the evaporator coils. Disconnect its wire harness.
- Test the sensor with a multimeter. Resistance varies by temperature, but an infinite or zero reading confirms it’s bad. It’s often replaced along with the thermal fuse as a set.
- Clip the new sensor onto the coil, reconnect the wiring, and carefully reassemble the interior of the refrigerator.
