How to Fix Dryer Error

  • UNPLUG dryer from electrical power and allow 45 minutes for components to cool completely.
  • Remove rear access panel to access heating chamber assembly.
  • Disconnect electrical wires from heater terminals. Label connections before removal.
  • Measure heater element resistance with multimeter: expected reading 10-30Ω. Infinite resistance confirms open element.
  • Inspect all wiring connections for signs of arcing, melted insulation, or loose terminals. Tighten connections to 8 in-lbs torque.
  • Replace faulty heater assembly using OEM part DC97-15010A: remove mounting hardware, extract old unit, clean chamber thoroughly, install new assembly with new gasket, secure mounting screws evenly.
  • Test thermal cutoff fuse mounted on heater housing for continuity. Replace if open circuit.
  • Reconnect wiring harness. Reassemble panels. Restore power and run diagnostic heat cycle while verifying exhaust temperature stabilizes within normal range (135-155°F).
