How to Fix GE Dryer Error L2

⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.

Error Code: L2 Difficulty: Moderate

Problem: Low/no voltage on one leg of 240V – dryer only receiving 120V

How to Fix L2 Error

  1. This error means the dryer is only receiving 120V of power instead of the required 240V. The drum may turn, but it will not heat.
  2. Go to your home’s circuit breaker panel. Dryers use a ‘double-pole’ breaker, which looks like two breakers linked together.
  3. It’s common for one of the two poles to trip. To reset it properly, you must flip the linked breaker all the way to the OFF position, then firmly back to the ON position.
  4. If the breaker trips again immediately, you have an electrical issue that requires a qualified electrician.

Still Not Working?

If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
