How to Fix E64 Error

  1. UNPLUG THE DRYER. This is another variant code for a heating element circuit failure.
  2. Follow the exact same procedure as for code E60/E
  3. Remove the rear panel to access the heater assembly.
  4. Use a multimeter to test the heating element coil for continuity.
  5. Test the high-limit thermostat and the thermal cut-off (fuse) on the heater housing for continuity. Both should be closed circuits.
  6. Replace the heating element if it’s broken, or the thermostat(s) if they are open. Clean your dryer vent.
