How to Fix E13 Error

  1. UNPLUG THE DRYER. This error indicates a problem with the moisture sensor system.
  2. Locate the two metal sensor bars inside the dryer drum, usually near the lint filter housing.
  3. Vigorously clean the surface of both metal bars with a cloth or pad dampened with rubbing alcohol. Fabric softener residue can coat the bars and prevent them from sensing moisture.
  4. If cleaning does not resolve the issue, inspect the wires leading from the sensor bars to the main control board for breaks. If the wires are good, the sensor bars themselves may need to be replaced (a ‘Moderate’ difficulty repair).
