Problem: Pump filter needs cleaning – drain restriction detected (combo units)

How to Fix 18 Error

This code applies to washer/dryer combo units and indicates the drain pump filter is clogged.
Locate the small access door on the bottom front of the machine.
Place a shallow pan and a towel under the access door. Open the door and locate the small drain hose. Uncap it and let the residual water drain into the pan.
Once drained, twist the large pump filter cap counter-clockwise and pull it out. Be prepared for more water.
Clean all lint, hair, and debris from the filter. Check inside the filter housing for any obstructions. Reinsert the filter and tighten it securely. Replace the drain hose cap and close the access door.

If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
