How to Fix ED6 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Turn off and unplug the washing machine from the electrical outlet.
- Remove the top panel of the washer to gain access to the control and display boards.
- Check the wiring harness that connects the main PCB to the display board. Look for any loose or disconnected plugs, or any signs of damage to the wires.
- Disconnect and then firmly reconnect the wiring harness at both the main PCB and the display board to ensure a solid connection.
- If replacing the display board does not resolve the issue, the main PCB is the next component to replace. Disconnect all wire harnesses from the old board and connect them to the new main PCB.
- Reinstall the top panel, plug the washer back in, and run a check cycle to ensure the error is cleared.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
