Problem: A data communication error has occurred between the WD board and the main PCB.
How to Fix ED1 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the washer from power by unplugging it from the wall outlet to ensure safety.
- Remove the top panel of the washer. This is typically secured by screws at the back or on the sides of the machine.
- Locate the Main Control Board (PCB) and the WD Board. They are usually housed in a plastic casing near the top or back of the washer.
- Carefully disconnect all wire harnesses attached to both boards. It’s helpful to take a photo before disconnecting to remember their placement.
- Remove the screws or release the locking tabs that hold the old boards in place and gently remove them.
- Install the new Main Control Board and WD Board, securing them with the original screws or tabs.
- Reconnect all wire harnesses to the correct terminals on the new boards, using your photo as a guide. Reassemble the top panel, plug in the washer, and run a test cycle.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
