Error Code: E97 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Mismatch between the cycle selector and the main control board’s cycle data.
How to Fix E97 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Begin by unplugging the washer from the power outlet for safety.
- Open the detergent dispenser drawer and remove any screws located in the opening. Then, remove the top panel of the washer by unscrewing it from the back.
- This will give you access to the front control panel where the cycle selector (part 5304519503 or 809019903) is located.
- Take a picture of the wiring connections to the cycle selector module before proceeding.
- Disconnect the wire harnesses attached to the module. You may need to gently pry the locking tabs on the connectors.
- Remove the control knob and any screws holding the old cycle selector in place. Install the new selector.
- Reconnect the wiring, reassemble the control panel and top lid, and then restore power to the washer.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
