⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: E70 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Temperature Sensor Error – Issue with the water temperature sensor (NTC thermistor).
How to Fix E70 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the power cord of the washer from the wall outlet.
- Locate the water temperature sensor (NTC thermistor). It is usually pushed into a rubber grommet on the wash tub or mounted directly on the heating element assembly.
- You may need to remove the front or rear service panel for access.
- Disconnect the two wires leading to the sensor and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Set a multimeter to measure resistance in Ohms (Ω). Test the sensor by placing a probe on each of its two terminals.
- At room temperature, you should get a reading of several thousand ohms. If the reading is zero or infinite (OL), the sensor is defective and must be replaced.
- Pull the old sensor out and install the new one, then reconnect the wires, reattach the panel, and restore power.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
