⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: E41 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: The door is not closed tightly.
How to Fix E41 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Ensure the washer is completely powered down by unplugging it.
- Open the washer door and inspect the door strike (the plastic or metal piece on the door that engages the lock) for damage or misalignment. Also, check that the door hinge is not loose.
- If the strike and hinge are okay, the issue is likely the lock assembly. Remove the outer spring band from the rubber door boot seal.
- Peel back the door boot seal around the lock area to gain access to the lock assembly’s mounting screws.
- Unscrew the door lock assembly from the front panel and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the old lock assembly and attach it to the new one.
- Reinstall the new lock assembly, put the door boot seal back in place, and secure it with the spring band before restoring power.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
