Error Code: E40 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Door Lock Error (Variant) – Similar to E30, often related to the door switch or latch.
How to Fix E40 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the washer from its power source by unplugging it from the wall outlet.
- Locate the metal spring clamp that secures the large rubber door boot seal to the front panel of the washer. Carefully pry this clamp off using a flathead screwdriver or pliers.
- Gently peel the door boot seal away from the front panel in the area of the door lock assembly.
- You will now see the door lock assembly. Remove the screws holding it in place.
- Carefully pull the assembly out, press the release tab on the wire harness connector, and detach the wiring.
- Connect the wire harness to the new door lock assembly, mount it in place with the screws, and re-secure the door boot seal with the spring clamp.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
