⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: E38 Difficulty: Easy
Problem: Blocked pressure chamber or pressure-sensing hydraulic circuit.
How to Fix E38 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the washer from the wall outlet and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Pull the washer away from the wall to access the panels. You will likely need to remove the top panel.
- Locate the pressure switch. It will have a thin rubber or plastic tube attached to it.
- Follow this tube down to where it connects to the side of the outer drum or tub. This connection point is the pressure chamber.
- Carefully disconnect the tube from the pressure chamber. Be prepared for a small amount of water to spill out.
- Blow forcefully through the tube to clear any trapped lint, soap scum, or debris. You can also use a small, flexible wire to gently clear the port on the tub itself.
- Reconnect the tube securely, reattach the washer’s panel, plug the machine in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
