How to Fix C9 Error (Step-by-Step)

Disconnect the washer from the power outlet and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
Open the rear panel of the washer to get to the motor.
Loosen the belt by releasing the tensioner, then slip the belt off the motor pulley.
Disconnect the motor’s wiring harness and any grounding straps and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
Remove the bolts that mount the motor to the washer frame and carefully take out the motor.
Position the new motor and secure it with the mounting bolts.
Reconnect the wiring harness, reattach the belt, and put the back panel on.
Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
