- Open the rear panel of the washer to get to the motor.
- Loosen the belt by releasing the tensioner, then slip the belt off the motor pulley.
- Disconnect the motor’s wiring harness and any grounding straps and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Remove the bolts that mount the motor to the washer frame and carefully take out the motor.
- Position the new motor and secure it with the mounting bolts.
- Reconnect the wiring harness, reattach the belt, and put the back panel on.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
