How to Fix FLASHING “D” LED Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. First, ensure the refrigerator is completely disconnected from its power source by unplugging it.
  2. Locate the thermistor sensor. This is often in the fresh food section, housed within the control panel at the top of the refrigerator interior or near an air vent.
  3. Carefully remove any covers to access the thermistor. This may require removing a few screws or releasing plastic tabs.
  4. The thermistor is a small probe connected by a wire. Gently disconnect the wire connector.
  5. Plug the new thermistor (part 240597203 or 5303918775) into the wire connector.
  6. Mount the new thermistor in the same position as the one you removed.
  7. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
