- First, ensure the refrigerator is completely disconnected from its power source by unplugging it.
- Locate the thermistor sensor. This is often in the fresh food section, housed within the control panel at the top of the refrigerator interior or near an air vent.
- Carefully remove any covers to access the thermistor. This may require removing a few screws or releasing plastic tabs.
- The thermistor is a small probe connected by a wire. Gently disconnect the wire connector.
- Plug the new thermistor (part 240597203 or 5303918775) into the wire connector.
- Mount the new thermistor in the same position as the one you removed.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
