Problem: The refrigerator compartment is too cold.
How to Fix E11 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet or turn off its circuit breaker for safety.
- Locate the damper control assembly. It is usually found at the top of the fresh food compartment, behind a light cover or a panel where cold air enters from the freezer.
- Remove any screws holding the cover in place. You may also need to release some plastic clips with a flathead screwdriver.
- Carefully disconnect the wire harness attached to the old damper assembly. Take a picture with your phone to remember how it connects.
- Remove the old damper assembly. It might be held by a few more screws or simply snap out of place.
- Install the new damper assembly (part #242115233), ensuring it is seated correctly. Reconnect the wire harness.
- Reinstall the cover panel and any screws. Plug the refrigerator back in or turn on the power. The error should clear.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
