Error Code: DI SP Difficulty: Easy
Problem: Ice jam in the dispenser chute.
How to Fix DI SP Error (Step-by-Step)
- Turn off the ice maker using its control switch or button to prevent it from producing more ice.
- Obtain a plastic cup and a wooden or plastic utensil, like a spoon. Do not use sharp or metal objects.
- Press the ice dispenser lever to identify where the ice is clogged in the chute.
- Use the handle of the utensil to gently break up the jammed ice from the dispenser opening.
- For deeper jams, open the freezer door, remove the entire ice bin, and set it aside.
- This will give you access to the top of the chute. Use your utensil and a warm, damp cloth to clear any remaining ice fragments. Dry the area thoroughly.
- Reinstall the ice bin and turn the ice maker back on.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
