How to Fix DI SP Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Turn off the ice maker using its control switch or button to prevent it from producing more ice.
  2. Obtain a plastic cup and a wooden or plastic utensil, like a spoon. Do not use sharp or metal objects.
  3. Press the ice dispenser lever to identify where the ice is clogged in the chute.
  4. Use the handle of the utensil to gently break up the jammed ice from the dispenser opening.
  5. For deeper jams, open the freezer door, remove the entire ice bin, and set it aside.
  6. This will give you access to the top of the chute. Use your utensil and a warm, damp cloth to clear any remaining ice fragments. Dry the area thoroughly.
  7. Reinstall the ice bin and turn the ice maker back on.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
