How to Fix HD Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the dryer from the power source by unplugging it from the wall.
- Remove the top panel of the dryer by taking out the screws at the back or sides.
- Locate the main control board, which is typically a green circuit board housed in a plastic case.
- Take a clear photo of the wire connections before you begin, to use as a reference.
- Carefully disconnect all the wire harnesses attached to the board. Most have small locking tabs that need to be pressed.
- Remove the screws or release the clips holding the old control board in place and lift it out.
- Install the new control board, secure it, and meticulously reconnect all wire harnesses based on your reference photo.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
