⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: HC Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Heating Error – Dryer is getting too hot.
How to Fix HC Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet to ensure safety.
- Pull the dryer away from the wall and inspect the entire length of the vent hose for any kinks, clogs, or blockages. Clean it out thoroughly.
- Remove the back panel of the dryer to access the internal components.
- Locate the thermistor on the blower housing. Disconnect the two wires and test it for continuity with a multimeter. It should read around 50,000 ohms at room temperature. If the reading is incorrect, the thermistor needs replacement.
- Locate the heating element in its metal housing. Disconnect the wires and test the terminals for continuity. A reading of infinite resistance means the element is broken and must be replaced.
- If both the thermistor and heating element test good, the issue may be with the main control board, which may require professional diagnosis.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
