⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: EF2 Difficulty: Easy
Problem: Too much soap.
How to Fix EF2 Error (Step-by-Step)
- UNPLUG THE DRYER. Disconnect the dryer from the power source for safety.
- LOCATE MOISTURE SENSORS. Open the dryer door and look inside the drum, typically near the lint filter opening, for two parallel metal strips. These are the moisture sensors.
- PREPARE A CLEANING SOLUTION. Dampen a soft cloth or a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol. Do not use a dripping wet cloth.
- CLEAN THE SENSOR BARS. Vigorously wipe down the metal sensor bars with the alcohol-dampened cloth. This removes invisible residue from dryer sheets or fabric softener that can prevent the sensors from detecting moisture.
- DRY THE SENSORS. Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe away any remaining alcohol and ensure the sensors are completely dry.
- REDUCE DRYER SHEET USE. In the future, consider using fewer dryer sheets or switching to a liquid fabric softener in the wash, as overuse can cause this residue buildup.
- RECONNECT AND TEST. Plug the dryer back in and run a new cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
