How to Fix EA5 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Turn off the power to the dryer by unplugging it from the wall outlet.
- Remove the top panel of the dryer by taking out the screws located on the back edge.
- Identify the main control board inside the dryer. It is usually a green circuit board inside a plastic case.
- Before touching any wires, take a detailed photograph to remember where each connector goes.
- Carefully unplug all the wire harnesses connected to the control board. Remove the screws that hold the board in its housing and lift it out.
- Position the new control board in place and secure it with the mounting screws. Reconnect all the wire harnesses according to your reference photo.
- Replace the top panel and its screws. Plug the dryer back in and test its operation by starting a new cycle.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
