How to Fix E5F Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet to prevent any electrical shock.
- Remove the screws from the back of the dryer that hold the top panel in place, then lift the panel off.
- Locate the FCV board, which is also known as the inverter board. It is a small circuit board with multiple wire connections.
- Before disconnecting anything, take a clear picture of the board and its wire connections to use as a guide for reinstallation.
- Carefully unplug all the wire harnesses from the old board. Then, remove the mounting screws that hold it in place.
- Position the new inverter board, secure it with the mounting screws, and reconnect all the wire harnesses exactly as they were in your photo.
- Reinstall the top panel, plug the dryer in, and run a cycle to ensure the error is gone.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
